Creamed Peas And Potatoes

Ingredients

- 4 medium red potatoes, cubed
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen peas
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, minced
Recipe
- 1 place potatoes in saucepan, cover with water and cook until tender.
- 2 cook peas according to package directions, adding the sugar.
- 3 melt the butter in a saucepan; add flour, salt and pepper to form a paste.
- 4 gradually add the milk. bring to a boil; boil for 1 minute -- stirring often. add dill; cook until thickened and bubbly.
- 5 drain potatoes and peas and return to one saucepan. pour sauce over; stir to combine.
- 6 serve immediately. garnish with a sprig of fresh dill if desired.
