Brenda's Crock Pot Strata

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 medium russet potatoes, scrubbed
- 4 medium carrots, peeled
- 3 celery ribs
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can peas, drained
- 1 can condensed tomato soup
- 1/2 cup water
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 brown beef with salt and pepper.
- 2 drain grease.
- 3 while beef is browning, cut whole potatoes, carrots and celery into 1/4" thick slices.
- 4 layer in crock pot in this order: potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, peas and beef.
- 5 add salt and pepper between layers as desired.
- 6 mix tomato soup with water and pour over all.
- 7 cook on low setting for 8 hours.
- 8 tip: prepare the ingredients the night before and throw them in the crock pot before you leave for work in the morning.
- 9 to keep sliced potatoes from browning in the refrigerator overnight, dip them in a solution of 1 cup water with 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
