Brunswick Type Lamb Stew

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1/8 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup chopped sweet onion
- 2 1/2 cups cooked lamb, cut into small bite sized pieces
- 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed golden mushroom soup
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups leftover mixed vegetables (i used a combo of limas, peas, corn and carrots)
Recipe
- 1 in a medium sized bowl, add soup, water, and all seasonings; mix well and set aside.
- 2 heat shortening until hot but not smoking, in a large skillet over medium heat.
- 3 place onion and lamb in skillet,cook until onion is soft and lamb is lightly browned.
- 4 add soup mixture,and stir until combined.
- 5 then add vegetables, mixing well; turn heat down and let simmer for up to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6 taste and if at this point necessary, add more seasonings.
- 7 serve over biscuits or potatoes if desired.
