Creamed Peas And New Potatoes

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb tiny new potatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups peas
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 scrub potatoes, and cut any large ones in half.
  • 2 in a medium sauce pan, cook potatoes in a small amount of boiling salted water for 10 minutes.
  • 3 add peas and cook 5 to 10 minutes more. drain.
  • 4 in same sauce pan, melt margarine over medium high heat and cook onion until tender.
  • 5 stir in flour, salt and pepper.
  • 6 add milk all at once. cook and stir until thickened.
  • 7 cook and stir 1 minute more, then add potatoes and peas. heat through.
