Cape Breton Meat Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 lb ground lean lamb
  • salt
  • pepper
  • poultry seasoning
  • 10 medium potatoes
  • pie crust (for 5 - 7 pies)

Recipe

  • 1 cook meat in pot by covering with water and simmering for 30 minutes.
  • 2 add spices (salt, pepper and poultry seasoning to taste).
  • 3 when mixture is cooked, add mashed potatoes and mix well- should not be lumpy.
  • 4 fill double crust pie shells.
  • 5 makes 5- 7 pies.
  • 6 bake at 375 degrees till crust is golden.
  • 7 freezes well for 6 months.
