Creamy Potato Dauphinoise

Ingredients

- 1 lb potato, thinly sliced
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 7 tablespoons milk
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 2 ounces gruyere cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 350°f
- 2 place the sliced potatoes in a bowl of cold water to prevent them from browning. rinse, then pat dry with kitchen paper.
- 3 place the cream, milk and garlic in a large saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
- 4 add the potatoes, cover and simmer for 10 mins until just tender. season well.
- 5 transfer to a buttered, ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the cheese.
- 6 bake for 25 mins until golden.
- 7 serve with a leafy green salad.
