Creamy Potato Dauphinoise

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb potato, thinly sliced
  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 7 tablespoons milk
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 ounces gruyere cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350°f
  • 2 place the sliced potatoes in a bowl of cold water to prevent them from browning. rinse, then pat dry with kitchen paper.
  • 3 place the cream, milk and garlic in a large saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • 4 add the potatoes, cover and simmer for 10 mins until just tender. season well.
  • 5 transfer to a buttered, ovenproof dish and sprinkle over the cheese.
  • 6 bake for 25 mins until golden.
  • 7 serve with a leafy green salad.
