Amager Island Stew (amagergryde)

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb ham or 1 lb smoked lamb butt
  • 16 ounces water
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen peas and carrots, defrosted
  • 1 lb new potato
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • 1 bunch parsley, rough chopped

Recipe

  • 1 cut the ham or lamb into small squares. peel the potatoes and cut them into small squares.
  • 2 in a dutch oven, bring the ham and potatoes to a boil and continue cooking until the stew is almost cooked through (15-20 min) and then add the peas and carrots.
  • 3 mix the butter and flour and add to the mixture. return to a boil and boil for 5 minute.
  • 4 add salt and pepper. add the parsley on top of the dish.
