Corn And Potato Chowder

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 5 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 16 ounces corn, cream-style
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 cut bacon into small pieces.
  • 2 combine bacon and onion in 3-quart casserole.
  • 3 cook, covered on full power 10-13 minutes, or until bacon is thoroughly cooked and onion is tender.
  • 4 stir halfway through cooking time.
  • 5 drain.
  • 6 add potatoes and water.
  • 7 cook, covered, on full power 15-17 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  • 8 stir twice during cooking time.
  • 9 add remaining ingredients.
  • 10 heat, covered, on full power 5-8 minutes, or until heated through.
  • 11 do not boil.
  • 12 stir halfway through heating time.
