Carolyn's Ham Stew

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 2 lbs piece ham or 4 cups cubed ham, about 1 inch cubes
  • 2 (16 ounce) bags frozen green beans
  • 3 medium onions, cut in chunks
  • 6 cups water
  • 6 medium potatoes, quartered
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 put the ham, beans, onions and water in a large dutch oven and cook for 1 hour.
  • 2 add salt and pepper to taste - be careful not to oversalt - the ham will add to salt.
  • 3 add the potatoes and continue cooking for about 20 minutes, until potatoes are fork soft.
