Chicken Cacciatore

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 kg chicken pieces
- 60 g mushrooms
- 1 large onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 470 g whole tomatoes
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup red wine
- salt
- pepper
Recipe
- 1 slice mushrooms and onion, crush garlic.
- 2 heat oil in pan, fry chicken pieces until golden brown.
- 3 remove from pan, drain well.
- 4 add onion, mushrooms and garlic to pan, saute until onion is tender.
- 5 return chicken to the pan, add ndrained, mashed tomatoes, bayleaf and wine.
- 6 cook slowly, covered, for 45 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
- 7 remove bayleaf, and serve with mashed potatoes and green beans.
