Country "sausage" Patties

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any oil)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons thyme
  • 2 tablespoons sage
  • 1/8 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon african bird cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • salt (with the soy sauce you may not need it)
  • 1/2 cup onion, grated
  • 4 cups quick oats
  • 4 cups pecan meal

Recipe

  • 1 heat a large non-stick skillet and add 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any oil you like).
  • 2 put the 3 cups water in a large bowl.
  • 3 add soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, sage, poultry seasoning, cayenne pepper and salt.
  • 4 mix well.
  • 5 add grated onion.
  • 6 add oats and pecan meal.
  • 7 mix and stir well, mashing mixture with back of the spoon as you stir and mix.
  • 8 drop by large spoonfuls into a hot skillet in shape of patties.
  • 9 brown well on both sides.
  • 10 eat as sausage patties on a biscuit for breakfast, or put a gravy on them and bake them for 15 minutes in 400 degree fahrenheit oven until hot and bubbly. serve with mashed potatoes, a vegetable and salad.
